There was an old man. He was U.S. sitizen. He participated in Korean war. He was an U.S. patriot with classic strong world outlook of White American Protestant. I forget his name. My head like a sieve :o) Let's his hame is Clint Eastwood or just Man :)
The movie starts from funerals of Man's wife. The time is ripe for her. Man lost a last close men. Man's adult son and son's family does't understand him and his values. They decided to move Man in old people's home as present in coming Man's birthday. Man doesn't approve son's and son's family behavior. Son drives a japan jeep. Man prefers all american, include great car Gran Torino car which was made in 70's. Man used to work in Ford Automibile Plant in the past. Man has an old puckup also.
But it's just start.
A large slant family settled in the neighbour house close to Man's house.
All his life Man looked at any people such as niggers, russians, slants and so on with distrust. He beat slants during war. And there is so lovely surprise up to Man's old age :)
There is a boy in that korean family. Boy's friends and his big brother offers him to participate in their gang. There are two ethnic gangs as minimum in this district or town. They are slants gang and niggers gang. Boy accepts gang's offer. They give him first task to steal Gran Torino of that strange white old farter. Boy tries to steal that car. He invides to Man's garage sussessfily but Man hears something wrong and starts to search a stranger. Man catchs boy but don't kills him :)
Next day korean family visits Man and offers him that Boy as a free worker as punishment. Man looked at that all with his thaditional distrust but he agrees.
Man starts to teach Boy in house and garden working.
Boy's big sister invites Man to their celebrate where Man can watch slants from inside. He meets some new people, tastes some new dishes, knows some new traditions. Man sees a korean girl witch likes Boy very much. But Boy is confused to met her. Man teachs Boy to true man's behavior also :)
In the mean time slant gang which leads by Boy's big brother is displeased by Boys good behavior. They tries to move him to their gang again, but Boy's sister not allows it.
Then at one night gang tries to talk with Boy about his not true behavior but Man suppress it by threat of gun.
Gang leaves but sets Man as an enemy.
Then Man continues to teach Boy what to do in life. He introduces Boy to Man's friends. They are an Italian barber and an Irish foremaster. Man buys a couple of simple work tools for Boy and asks a foremaster to accept Boy for job. But bad guys have their own point of view on this situation.
They attacked Boy's family house with firearms and steal Boy's big sister. Sister returns home for couple days kicked and perhaps raped.
Man declares war to gang. He prepares to final action.
Man comes to gang house at night and starts to talk with them. Neighbours looked at it.
Finally gang kills Man. Numerous witnesses calls the police which arrests all gang.
Man's relatives opens his testament. Man left his main value, his Gran Torino to that korean Boy.
Movie finishes with scene of Boy driving Gran Torino along river levee to the song executed by Clint Easwood.
This film was made in previos year. Clint Eastwood said it is last his film :( Old cowboy left as it shoud. He left unbeaten.
Perhaps my story and my wrong, terrible English didn't tell all the film's spirit :)
I recommendet you to see this movie. It is one of my favorite movies.

A large Korean family then moved in next door to Man. All of his life Man looked at minorities such as blacks, Russians, and Asians with distrust. He fought Asians during the war. Suddenly Man would face a lovely surprise in his old age. :) There is a boy in the Korean family. The boy's friends and his big brother offer him to participate in their gang. In the meantime the Asian gang, which is lead by Boy's big brother, is displeased by Boy's good behavior. They try to get him in their gang again, but Boy's sister will not allow it. Then one night the gang tries to talk with Boy about his good behavior, but Man intervenes by threatening them with his gun. The gang leaves, but targets Man as an enemy.
Then Man continues to teach Boy about what to do in life. He introduces Boy to Man's friends. They are an Italian barber and an Irish foreman. Man buys a couple of simple work tools for Boy and asks a foreman to accept Boy for a job. But the bad gang has their own plans for Boy.
They shot at Boy's house and stole his big sister. Sister returns home a couple days later, kicked and perhaps raped. Man declares war on the gang. He prepares his final action. Man goes to the gang's house at night and starts to talk with them while neighbors watched from across the street. Finally the gang kills Man. Numerous witnesses call the police who come to arrest the entire gang.
Man's relatives later read his will. Man left his most valuable possession, his Gran Torino, to the Korean boy. The movie closes with a scene of Boy driving the Gran Torino along a riverbank to a song sung by Clint Eastwood.
This film was made last year. Clint Eastwood said it will be his last film. :( The old cowboy left as he should have. He left unbeaten.
